The platform sozialroutenplan.at provides an overview of social facilities in Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Salzburg, but suffers from limitations in its search functionality. The current implementation of the search algorithm has several limitations, particularly regarding the ranking, the consideration of relevant search features, the handling of typing errors, and location-based search. The goal of this thesis is to enhance the existing search logic using information retrieval techniques such as the integration of semantic information in the search process. The quality of the search results is evaluated both offline using existing relevance assessments and online through expert feedback. Finally, the improved algorithm is integrated into the existing system and evaluated in terms of its performance.
