OMNIS/2 was designed for a better working with documents at digital libaries. By means of the Dexter-Model OMNIS/2 realized links between several documents and additionally a personal userprofil.
With this approach existing systems should be able to be enlarged with these new functionalities. The aim of this thesis is to integrate external library-systems into OMNIS/2 by use of the Z39.50-protocol and the formats MARC21 plus MAB. Further on the system would be enlarged with cataloging. The whole functionality should be conceived for texts, pictures and video-files.
